What structures are they designed to practise?
1a modal verbs, 1b prepositions of place
2. Think of two or more ways you could make these grammar exercises more communicative.
Task modal verbs
I would set this task as follows: Students can write down their own problem anonymously , then the papers with problems are shuffled, a pair of students take a paper with a problem and suggest their pieces of advice, then they pass the paper with a problem to the other pairs until all problems are distributed, in the end the whole class vote for the best piece of advice.
Task preposition of place.
I would set this task as follows:
1) Students divide paper in half: draw a picture of their own room –on the left, and leave blank the right half.
2) Students sit back-to-back and describe their room to a partner who draws it on the blank half.
3) Students compare their drawing and discuss any differences
