AS I'm a teacher of Pre-starters and Starter level students I use email just to communication with parents, getting feedback and so on. Yes, sometimes I use Internet to download some interesting worksheets, watch a video or listen to a song on the lesson. Much more often I use it to prapare for the class, to find some new interesting ideas for the tasks and so on.

Some problems involved in using the Internet are poor internet connection, and some students don't like watch even short videos on the lesson, prefer to do it as a hometask, they want to interact more with a teacher. So I show just a short videos less then 5 minutes long and always try to download videos in advance if they are really important for the lesson in case of bad internet connection.

Make some predictions about the way technology is likely to affect the teaching of languages in the next five to ten years. I suppose, there will be wide range of devices making learning English not so important, they would immediatly translate to you your partner's speach, but still students especially young students will learn language to develope their thinking skills. And for those groups learning wouldn't change a lot, the same skills and approaches.

I use the Internet a lot. Even though I am not a digital native, I know all my students are so not using the Internet would somehow be like going against the way things are. I use materials from the net, I use email and Drive to communicate with my students and they send me their projects as well. We use Moodle to share files and other materials and I belong to schools online (British Council).
Problems of using the internet? When connection doesn’t work!! That happens quite often and it is a problem. We are used to depending on the internet a lot. The only way to solve that problem would be not using it...
I am sure the world of Education is going to change in the near future but I refuse to believe that teachers will be ‘expendable’. Of course English courses online, TV and traslating apps will make things easier (they are already) but they will need someone (teachers) to guide them through.
