Drills are good to introduce new vocabulary, I use them so my students can get the pronunciton of new words. I use a chant to call for their atention, when they´re noisy, when they´re working and I need them to stop or to set steps to a new activity, "class, class, yes, yes, pencils down, eyes to the front"
