I personally try to avoid teacher’s talking time as much as possible. However, I do consider that listening to the teacher speaking at length occasionally, can be highly beneficial to students since it offers genuine, natural communication including some hesitation and facial expressions. Besides, if students are asked to interact and are also given the opportunity to ask for clarification or make any follow-up questions, the activity turns into a useful discussion panel.
