My planning style

Post by Sadullah DEDE » Thu Mar 29, 2007 5:18 pm

My planning style is a bit of Deniz's but mostly like Paolo's. I am using a coursebook and I have a syllabus that I have to follow. When I'm planning I start off by deciding on the aims of the lesson. Then I try to find extra materials that I can during the lesson. I try to find different kinds of activities. In my opinion variety is important otherwise my students lose their attention. However the lesson should have a logical order between the activities. I teach in a high school where the students have ten English classes a week, forty-five minutes each. I tend to plan all of the lessons together. So I try to get a balance of activities over the ten lessons. In each lesson I tend to do a different activity. I use two lessons for each skill. I do a vocabulary exercise followed by a reading task, and then speaking or listening activity, a writing task and at the end a game.
