PLANNING

Post by LUCÍA » Thu Oct 19, 2017 2:53 am

In accordance with the described planning styles I consider Deniz´description similar than me.
I work in a public school where my students take three English classes per week. When I plan my classes I have in mind the aims of the lesson and try to find different activities to reach the main goal.

IMPORTANT QUALITIES WHEN PLANNING A UNIT OF WORK:
- Relevance: To maintain my students´attention I need to present relevant topics and useful target language that they can practice language in real life situations.
- Variety: Each student learns in a different and proper way, so they need to have different activities to interact with the language and get the learning in a meaningful way.
- Balance: We need to include and practice the four language skills, to have a progress and a better performance in class.
- Cohesion: I understand this point like: teaching useful learning points that the student can use the language in real situations.
- Logic: The activities must be clear and have a close relationship with the aim of the lesson.
- Flow: For me it´s very important that teacher must know what He´s going to teach in each lesson with proper materials and having in mind the time each activity requires. When you have your plan (with all the elements it involves) your class is fluent and active.
