Unit 3. Selecting and grading vocabulary
Question 1.

the logical order of the acquisition of the language. I think so, because some of the intermediate words can be given to the beginners such as: roof, basement and balcony.
The other five words that I would like to add the following words:


- Advanced:
1- Elevator
2- Bushes
3- Ventilator
4- Screw
5- Socket
- Intermediate:
1- Chandelier
2- Lobby
3- Bookshelf
4- Heater
5- Handle

- Beginners:
1- Garden party
2- Wall
3- Picture frame
4- Dining room
5- Curtain


Question 3-

I think the following words can to be listed in the intermediate group: Carefree- Cheerful- Sociable - Intelligent – stubborn- Reliable- Assertive

I chose these words according to the following:

1. The frequent usage of the word.
2. The direct meaning in the dictionary (when it comes to the English-Arabic dictionary)
3. The repeated meaning of some words, which makes one of them seems to be easier than the other for the intermediate group of learners than the advanced learners.
4. The previous knowledge that the student had after finishing the “beginners level
