PRACTISING GRAMMAR

GAMES USED TO MAKE PRACTICE ACTIVITIES MORE INTERESTING AND MOTIVATING FOR STUDENTS.
When a person is studying language (children or adults) the game is a relaxed and funny way to adapt the knowledge and use it correctly, although you are making mistakes meanwhile when you are playing, you enjoy the learning process.
When I teach my students the simple present tense (Routines) I like to make competitons with images.
This is between two pairs seated in front. Each team has their own material: Little cards with mixed images showing routine in a day.
Meanwhile teacher is reading a routine they have to put the images in the correct order.
They need to be agree with the image they choose.
At the end, teacer checks pictures´order and decide if the pairs were correct or not.
Finally they have to say the sequence of the images they put.

This activity is previous at the one where they express their routine later. Exposing their routines using images.

This is one of my activities my students have enjoyed but analising the game advantages, I´ll include it in my teaching process most times.

HOW DO YOU TRY TO MAKE CONTROLLED PRACTICE ACTIVITIES MORE COMMUNICATIVE AND MOTIVATING FOR YOUR LEARNERS?
One way of making the activities more motivating is to use the language in real situations (interesting situations for them) that is called: PERSONALISE THE ACTIVITY. In this case, Students have to talk (write and share) about themselves.
When they think and express situations occured in their lifes is when they get the meaning and the usefulness of the language
