Unit 4 - Practising Grammar

7. Discussion topics.
How do you try to make controlled practice activities more communicative and motivating for your learners?

First I sometimes try to personalise grammar activities from the coursebook anda adpat them to their context. For example:
Write a complete model in the board.

Then I write personalised sentences in the board without the structure of the target language (could be a fill in the gap).
I give students some clippings on which they have to write their posible answers.
I tell them to Exchange clippings with their partners to check structure and spelling.
After checking students then paste theirs answers in the board (they fill the gap).

What do you think about how the practice activities in Reading have been adapted? What else could you do to these activities to make them more communicative?

I think they are very repetitive and tedious. Too much True and False sentences. The topic is not always of interest to the students. I would add maybe a physical activiy, a wrap text all over the classroom in which students can read the text and try order it by putting some colors to the parragraph or making some notes on their notebooks.
