Developing Listening Skills
I chose questions 1 and 2, I use all the activities of exercise 2, listen to a video, listen to songs, talk to my students about personal activities such as my vacations or an important celebration and the exchange of personal information between them, the only activity that I haven´t done is record authentic English.
Other listening activities I do are listening to single words to identify the stressed syllable or in short sentences find if there is a rising intonation or falling intonation, listen a description to order the activities or order instructions, and watch short films to identify the attitude of the person or people, the main idea and the genre, comedy, war, terror, etc.
I use more non interactive listening activities in my classes maybe because is easier for me to control the group, they have to be in silent and put attention, listen carefully and to be able to answer the work sheet, but I realize that is important to integrate more interactive tasks in order to motivate them.
