I think the way to teach writing depends on the level of our learners. I work in a secondary school and most of the times the students have a low or minimum knowledge of the language (vocabulary) to write a text, but I try to teach in accordance to their interest and start doing short and simple sentences or texts.
It´s important to check, correct and give feedback to the students´writing and they feel great when they notice our interest in their learning process.
