Hello everyone!
I found dreams a mystery and I don't think they are the meaningless waste products of the brain, as some theories believe. On the contrary, I consider that they are very useful as Freud used to think.
Although it is true that our dreams are sometimes weird, because we cannot see the connection or relation between different elements that appear on them; I think that dreams have a meaning, since they reflect our wishes and fears. And if we cannot see the sense of certain dreams, I believe it is because we are unconsciously thinking about different things at the same time that mix to create a crazy story.
Dreams also reflect our worries. For example, it is very common that students have nightmares, at least once in their life, about an exam they are going to take the following day. I remember that when I was a university student, I had a dream in which I had to go to a place and I found a lot of obstacles in my way. As I was walking, those obstacles became more and more complex and I was sweating. The following day I had an important exam at University.
Another day I was sleeping and I was woken up by my own laugh, because in my dream I told a joke to a friend that I even didn't know. It was really funny and I tried to remember that joke till the next morning, but I couldn't.
To sum up, I want to share with you a curiosity about dreams that I have found through the Internet.
Did you know that blind people dream too? Those who were born with vision but lost it (due to an accident or illness), can see images when they dream. However, those people who were born without vision, dream about tastes, smells or textures they can feel. I didn't know this.
Regards
Ester
