Dear all,

I had also a pretty bad shopping experience. It was around 7 years ago in a well-known store of domestic appliances, where "nobody purchasing there is silly".

I went there with my husband and my first boy of one year and a half. I was also pregnant from the second with a massive belly. I kneeled down to give him something to eat from my bag. Suddenly two security men came and took us without explaining to a room where they patted me down. They thought I stole as I was getting things from my handbag. We were misjudged and worst of all, nobody apologised. I really felt bad and we have never bought back at that store again.

Hi, Peter,

As a cashier, of course, not as a costumer. Ups. The shooper talked to me using female adjectives, in Spanish, of course. And I was quite a man! :)

See you!

Albert

Thanks for your story Albert - very bad behaviour: as if being rude solved anything! But what do you mean exactly: He talked to me as if I was a woman? I can't quite imagine that.
As a costumer I used to be friendly = Do you mean: As a cashier I used to be friendly etc.? Because customer is the same as shopper.
See you,
Pieter

One unpleasant shopping experience I remember was in my thirties, when I was working in a cash desk of a book shop specialized in art and architecture books. As a costumer I used to be friendly and efficient with the shoppers, most of them architects from around the world. The book shop was usually full of South American people because taxes of this kind of books were more expensive in their countries and they would take advantage of coming to Europe to buy professional interesting books. As a result, some days the queue was longer than I would like. I will ever remember one of those days, when an Argentinian architect talked to me as if I was a woman, just trying to make me feel angry. I guess he was drunk or simply was rude as a reply from being fed up of waiting too much time.

My worst shopping experience

My worst shopping experience was in summer sales four or five years ago. I had to buy some clothes for me, so I went to a store where I usually go. All the clothes in the store were on sale, so I tried on two trousers and some t-shirts and I decided to buy the trousers and one of the t-shirts. I went to the checkout to pay the amount. I thought it was too expensive for sales. I checked it and I noticed that they weren't sales prices. I told it to the shop assistant and she explained me that the clothes I bought weren't on sale! It get me angry. Immediately I retourned all the clothes and I left the shop. At home, I bought the same clothes on line, all of them were on sale!
And that's my first shopping experience on line.
