Gods. It all begins from this word as we read from the history.
We may start from the ancient Greece, with the first Olympic games; all to praise Gods. Or the slaughter of the gladiators in the Colosseum, a sacrifice to the Gods primarily, an entertainment for the people (and a distraction usefull for the Emperors). To cut down short, history teaches us the sport is born as a ritual ceremony to pray Gods but nowadays it's merely competition, healty activity, fun. That's how sport is born. In some way we can state that "the Gods donated us the sport".
