When you learn a new language, you always compare it with your mother tongue language and maybe find it difficult, but it depends on your own capabilities to learn it. If you are good at grammar or vocabulary of your mother tongue language, you will be good as well while studying a new one, because if you like grammar, it means you are confident with rules, so they might be less difficult to be learnt.

i think like most of the people when are leaning a new language, they may think that their mother tongue is easier than any other, and the one they are learning as a second language is kind of difficult.
