According with a recent study the gender gap is in a stability point. After years of reduction this pattern seems to be freezed.
It also explain that despite there are some jobs that are more suitable for women or men, there is some people who challenge this standard.
This is the case of Steve Santos from San Francisco. He is 44 and was an environmental biologist until the housing crisis slowed business, so he went back to school and became a nurse in 2015. "There is a need for nurses, it's a stable profession that pays well, and you help people,"
In the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, Jo Manson is one of the 9% of the female consultant surgeons in the UK. Which does not match with the 55% of women who are accepted for medical degree applicants since 2011. She has just completed a PhD at the Centre for Trauma and Neurosciences, Queen Mary, University of London.
