Ice Cube and Kevin Hart reteam for a sequel no one really wanted, next few up their lacklustre 2014 action comedy with a film that's even lazier. While the first one at least had a sense of pacing, With humour that typically tipped from idiotic to mildly funny, This movie wastes its cast and premise on several witless action sequences, Dopey slapstick and unnatural relational touches. It's only watchable because Hart is able to make the most of undemanding audience members chuckle now and then.
After proving that his video gaming skills were useful in police work, mary (Hart) Has completed police academy and is working as a rookie, Shadowing tough guy investigation company James (cube), Whose sibling Angela (Tika Sumpter) Is getting married to Ben in just a week. But before that takes place, James and Ben head to Miami to follow a lead in a drug case they're fixing. Alongside local tough girl investigator Maya (Olivia Munn), They discover a hacker (Ken Jeong) with proof that local philanthropist Antonio (Benjamin Bratt) there exists a notorious global black market dealer. To confirm that, They have to dive into a number of car and boat chases, Plus heists and shootouts that never seem to go within anyone expects.
The underlying story is identical to the first film: James is wishing to prove that Ben is an idiot, While he is actually really softening James' rough edges. The difference here is they know each other a [-censured-=https://chnlovereview.wixsite.com/chnlovereview]chnlove scam[/-censured-] bit better, So are more desirable at getting under each others' skin. this means that they're even less likeable than before, And even Hart's non stop comical chatter is more annoying compared to amusing. you are going to moments when Hart adds a tiny detail that elicits a smile from viewers, And some of his physical antics are so ridiculous that it's tough not to giggle, But most of that is mainly because it's unbelievable that the filmmakers thought any of this was genuinely funny.
Director Tim Story never tries to inject some creativity, mainly rehashing old gags and tired story cliches, While wallowing in careless physical violence and shameless misogyny (Aside from bikini models device of every scene, Munn and Sumpter are clothed in often revealing outfits). And while Hart does his best to create some comical energy, He's dragged down by Cube's cruise control performance and the flimsy stereotypes that comprise the characters played by Jeong and Bratt. There's a good enough premise here for something funny to happen, but the filmmakers never aim that high.
