“Survivors” is a good and known example of a Reality Show. This programme was created by Charlie Parsons above 1992, but the first broadcast was in Sweden in 1997.
Basically, the show consist in a group of people living in extreme situations with minimal resources. They are only allowed to eat the food that they find in the trees, or fishing, or hunting, and they only can use the things that the producers let them. The contestants have to compete against each other to win food or privileges to stay at the island as long as possible.
This programme has been broadcasted in more than 40 countries, and a particularity in Spain is that the contestant are more or less famous celebrities.
