2. The coining of the word “cryptozzology” is often attributed to American director Steven Spielberg. True or false?
3. The Okapi discovered in 1901 was initially unaccepted by the scientific community. True or false?
4. All of cryptozoologists always follow the scientific method and they never believe in anecdotal information. True or false?
5. Cryptozoologists are uninterested in researching newly-discovered species of ants or beetles. They are only interested in searching for megafauna such as Bigfoot, Yeti and Loch Ness Monster, for example. True or false?

Answers:
1- True. This term was coined by John Wall in 1983.
2- False. It is not clear but it is often attributed to Belgian-French zoologist Bernard Heuvelmans, though Heuvelmans attributes coinage of the term to the late Scottish explorer and adventurer Ivan T. Sanderson.
3- True. This is one of the discoveries that cryptozoologists claim to be one of the cases where species now accepted by the scientific community were innately considered superstition, hoaxes, delusions or misidentifications.
4- False. Cryptozoology has been criticised because of its reliance of anecdotal information and because some cryptozoologists do not followthe scientific method and devote a substantial portion of their efforts to investigations of animals that most scientists believe are unlikely to have existed.
5- True. The majority of mainstream criticism of cryptozoology is thus directed towards the search for mega fauna cryptids such as Bigfoot, the Yeti, and the Loch Ness Monster, which appear often in popular culture, but for which there is little or no scientific support.
