In Italy there are any animals in danger of extinct: one of them is Marsican brown bear. Its scintific name is "ursus arctos marsicanus". You can find this specie in Central Italy. In the Abruzzo National Park estimated a population of about 40 individuals. Marsican bears live in woods and they are omnivores: they eat small animals and vegetals.
Adult males weigh about 150-180 Kilograms and can be up to 150-180 cm long. They mate in May and females give birth to one to three cubs during winter dormancy, normally in February. These bears have a very well-developed sense of hearing and an excellent sense of smell. Their sight isn't very well.
The Marsican brown bear is the simbol of the Abruzzo National Park.
