6.- Can you find three interesting places to visit in Poland.
Yes, I can. I find an interesting place called Historic Old Town Krakow. In this place I can go sightseeing which is one of my favourite things I like most. Here I can visit the largest medieval squares in the world at Historic Old Town, hundreds of architecturally important palaces, churches, theaters and museums which collectively house more than 2 million works of arts. I can walk through historic sites in company of a guide who show me the most important events. And I can go out pubs, clubs and enjoy a delicious coffee at night.
Other place I would like to go on holidays is Wieliczka Salt Mine. It´s an important national monument. This mine included on the World Heritage List, produced table salt continuously for over seven centuries. The operation finally shut down in 2007. I can see dozen of statues, chapels, and cathedrals exquisitely hand carved by generations of miners. You can enter only by guided tour, you need to buy tickets well in advance. As you can see this sounds great.
Another place sounds likewise interesting is Smocsa Jama (Dragon’s Cave) is located in Krakow. If you like trekking this is a perfect place to visit. The legend tells the beginnings of Krakow with one Prince Krak who rid his people of a dragon devouring their stock and the virgins. For centuries a large, 200 foot long cavern in the western rocky slope Wawel Hill above the Vistula (Wisla) river bank has been known as the moster’s den.
In fact, the dragon’s lair (Polish “Smocza Jama”) is the area’s oldest residence. Inhabited, by man of the Stone Age through the 16th Century.
There is a spiral flight of steep stairs – 135 – steps take us down to a successions of 3 chambers under the Wawel Hill. The staircase is a well converted of the 19th century. The underground route is just 80 meters in lenght. The second, largest cavern is 25 meters long and 10 meter high. You can see only part of the 270 meter long in Wawel cave. The rest of the cave is very dangerous by the way in this part there are five ponds. The exit leads through the mouth of the cave where is next to embankment upon the Wisla River. That´s fantastic.
