On August 25, the date of the country and non-labor holiday for Uruguayans, since the Florida Congress the Independence Act was declared with Brazil, Portugal and any foreign government. For this reason, every August 25 in the city of Florida, a Civic-Military parade through one of the main streets.
On the eve of this day, August 24 at night, the night of Nostalgia is celebrated throughout the country.
