"I never do songs with my group of 10 -year-olds. They think singing songs is for babies"
I disagree with this statement because I think that songs are interesting and entertaining way to add variety to the lesson. Of course, that doesn't mean that you should include this activity into each lesson, but to choose one song appropriate to the vocabulary or grammar of the unit is a good idea. There are lots of useful activities with songs that help students to develop listening, speaking, writing and reading skills. Your students will never say that singing is for babies if you choose the song according to popularity, their interests and age.
