Of course yes! Students hate being quieted in a class, they enjoy being involved in the activities by changing the way they have been seated for hours.
Some students have a shy personality, so interaction patterns are excellent helpers to engage this kind of students in the tasks, even more!, to make them interact with others.
Pairs, groups of four and dividing the group in two, are the ones that I like the most.
