Drills and Chants

Do I use drills and chants in my lessons?
The answer is no, I don´t. Not because I do not like these kind of activities but because I believe it is not suitable for the students to learn and practice new language through songs and repetition. Well, as a matter of fact I ask them to repeat a new word/words to work on pronunciation but it is not as dynamic as it could be.
As I deal with adults and teenagers, most of the time they dont like to sing because they feel ashamed and it is ridiculous for them to carry out the activity.

What do I like or not like about using them?
What I like about these activities is that they could be dynamic for learners (especially young learners) and it could be a useful way to convey a meaningful meaning of a new topic, on the other hand, if the teacher ( in my case) it is not creative enough or he simple doesn´t like singing, it is difficult for the activity to be successful.
