The highly anticipated Berserk crossover in Diablo 4 has finally arrived, and while fans were initially thrilled about the collaboration, the reality of its pricing has soured the excitement. Blizzard introduced a variety of cosmetic bundles themed around the Berserk manga, featuring iconic armor sets and themed weapons. However, what should have been a celebration of the beloved series has turned into a heated debate due to its staggering $150 price tag for the complete set.

While the cosmetics are undeniably well-designed and faithful to Berserk’s aesthetic, the cost has many fans questioning the direction Diablo 4 is taking. To obtain the full bundle, players need to purchase 18,500 Platinum — more than what’s required — due to Blizzard's currency packaging structure. This inflates the total cost, leaving no option for players who want only specific items.

This isn’t the first time Blizzard has come under fire for aggressive monetization. Diablo 4 has consistently offered expensive cosmetics since launch, despite its full retail price. Many long-time fans feel that this monetization strategy undermines the franchise’s legacy, especially given the backlash Blizzard faced during Diablo 3’s auction house days.

In forums and on Reddit, reactions have ranged from frustration to mockery. Some players calculated that the same amount of money could buy two to three full-priced games. Others simply pointed out that cosmetics, while nice, offer no gameplay advantage and therefore aren't worth the cost.

While the update itself includes new seasonal content and class changes, the conversation has largely been dominated by criticism over pricing. Blizzard needs to consider player feedback if it wants to maintain goodwill as Diablo 4 heads into its next phase of seasonal content and beyond.
