Hi, I use live listening very often. Usually when I want to talk with the children about some topic and make them interested for it. F. e. if I shall learn them new vocabulary about animals - we use flashcards etc. and as soon as they know vocabulary I start to talk about animals I have at home. I don't say I have a cat or a dog, but they have to guess what it is and ask questions. Have a good weekend, Eva

That sounds like an excellent idea Eva - there are many advantages to doing live listening, rather than playing a CD. Students find CDs hard to understand, there is no visual help and there's no interaction possible as there is when the teacher tells a story.
