Writing Activities

An interesting writing idea that I haven't tried out yet, is incorporating Whatsapp and somehow projecting a live conversation in the classroom. Several books tackle writing through writing emails or even letters (which are outdated). I believe using an app makes it even more meaningful and familiar for the students.

I believe using apps is quite useful as you mention; nevertheless, I also consider a few "traditional" methods to be quite effective as well. A while back I met a teacher of YL that helped the Ss to create their own mosnter; they all have different characteristics, like the number of eyes and limbs; appart from creating the monster the Ss had to describe it too. In such cases I think that it may be traditional but the Ss were quite engaged. :)
