coursebooks and additional materials

I share the idea that no coursebook is perfect and, for that reason, it is important to use supplementary materials as well, to enhance learning in the classroom and keep students motivated.
However, a good coursebook can be a backbone of any classroom, especially for inexperienced teachers because they include carefully planned and balanced exercises in all four skills with clear goals which is very practical. Some of them may also have achievement tests.

The coursebook that I used a long time ago was the Oxford Sesame Street book series, featuring the world-famous "Sesame Street" characters. They were fun to use and children loved them!
