Social groups

In each generation there are different social groups in which people express their personality and in which they distinguish themselves from those around them.
I respect all these particular groups, as long as they don't hurt anyone. If I had to choice between the different social groups of the last hundred years, I would stay with the rockabilly and hippies. I think rockabilly have something sexy in their style, with those toupees, leather jackets and sideburns. And I like hippies because they are defenders of peace. In contrast, punks and Gothics have something sinister with which I do not feel comfortable, because the black colour of their clothes seems very dark to me. I don’t think they are bad people, but unfortunately, most of the time your clothing influences your professional life and your personal life as well.
I live in Tenerife and in my neighbourhood we can find different social groups too, specially yubbies, more than yuppies. I think yuppies are on the way out because today it is trendy to wear a casual look. There are more and more middle youther too, who refuse to grow old.
I would consider myself a little more represented in the Yubbies group, because I like to dress well but I support equal opportunities and Green issues and I have conscience and a soul.
Regards.
