I live in the coast of Veracruz, Mexico and in here the fashion industry tends to be a little more conservative about the way people dress and, although trends come and go sundresses for girls are always in style in one way or another.

The one thing that is changing drastically are tattoos, they have become more mainstream and more accepted by society and though there are still people who frown upon them, young people don’t mind as much.

I live in Spain. A decade ago tattoos and dyed hair were not accepted in some sectors. Instead, tattoos and dyed hair are the in thing these days. Even lawyers have them.

I find it a bit difficult to talk about "in and out of fashion" nowadays, because I feel like every trend could be "in" if you have the style or personality to pull it off.
I for example see that someone can dress with a "hippie" style one day, and it doesn´t mean they are hippies, you even might see them another day wearing torn jeans, or a three piece suit.
I do see pepole following trends when it comes to hairstyles. Like mohicans are back in, or in women you can see shoulder lenght to be very common these day, and the "balayage" style.
