Vocabulary used when travelling abroad.

Vocabulary used when travelling abroad.

Postby fonix1159 » Sun Oct 30, 2011 7:08 pm

I remember when I travelled to Egypt two years ago. Of course, there was no problem with communication as I could speak English and a lot of people there, specially the ones working in tourism, could use the language well. Anyway, the expressions that I used in Arabic were few, just: hello, bye, how much, thanks, toilet, you’re welcome, and the numbers from 1 to 10. And I must admit that I have forgotten most of them :-(!

Hello Fonix, thanks for posting! I think you have a good list of key words and expressions here; I imagine you can do most of the basic things if you know these items. Maybe "Where is...?" might also be useful.
Take care,
