1)I agree with the way the words are graded for beginners, intermediate and advanced because the vocabulary for the beginners is composed by the most common words and it is changing depending the level. For the group for beginners I add: table, chairs, sink, bed and stairs, for the intermediate: dinning room, cabinet, living room, curtains and coffe table, for the advanced: laundry room, bookshelf, bed side table and fence.
2) I think students can decide for themselves which words they would like to learn because the learning is more easily acquired if the words are meaningful for the lerner and they know which words select.
