Hello everyone,
I want to recommend a holiday destination that it's not really in my area; but last year I travelled to Czech Republic and I think it's worth it. The place is called Český Ráj or "Czech Paradise". It's an UNESCO Geopark located in North-East Bohemia, nearly 60 km from Prague. You can get there by train easily, and even it's possible to make an one-day trip if you are sleeping in the capital.
To get Český Ráj we took a train on Prague Central Station and stopped at Turnov railway station. From there we walked approximately 2 km to visit the Trosky Castle ruin. It's a beautiful, old castle placed on a mountain top and it's possible to visit it and climb the towers. You can get very nice photos from there. After that we walked one of the nature trails that are available in the park. It took about 3-4 hours walking between big trees and beautiful forest landscapes. There are many signposts so it's difficult to get lost. The only bad thing is that we didn't see any restaurant or coffee, so it's important to take enough food for the walk. At the end of the walk we found the giant rock structures of Karlovice -incredible!-.
So, if you're planning a trip to Prague or Czech Republic, I encourage you to keep at least one day of your holidays to visit Český Ráj. It's a really beautiful place!
