We can´t avoid making mistakes it is part of the learning process even in our life, we need to let our students know that making mistakes is natural if we are trying to learn or achieve something.
I use to give my students opportunities to speak as much as posible in the class but the majority of them do not try enough to complete the task and they give up by listening their classmates whit a higher level speaking. So I give them some expressions to use while speking and a repertory of vocabulary in order to help them to interact whit their classmates and feel confident while participating.
I am totally convinced that we have to correct students mistakes to help them improve and use the language accurate but people do not like to be corrected in front of others, I prefer write their mistakes and use them in exercises to be solved as a feed back. It helps the whole class to analize and discover by themselves what was wrong.
