1. A product approach? A process approach? Which approach do you prefer? Why?
I think both are very important but it depends what level the students have, because the faster students are comfortable with the process approach but the other ones need to have a first model to be confident with a writing task.
2. In what contexts might one be more preferable than the other? For example, think of teaching children, teaching businesspeople, teaching English for academic purposes, exam preparation etc.
With children, it can work the process approach, but with businesspoeple, for academic purpose and exam preparation, the product approach is better.
3. What other activities for teaching writing have worked for you?
Write sentences for a story with a sequence.
