Using the Internet

Of course I do use the Internet to help me in my teaching. I think that as teachers we have to adapt ourselves to new technologies as quickly as our students if we want to keep up to date. Normally students feel more motivated if we use the Internet as an active part of our teaching. We have to take into account that they have been brought up with it and from my own experience they normally like to work on line. I recomend them to use the internet above all to look for information for discussions, grammar exercises and dictionaries. Even though they can also use it for leasure to learn the lyrics of their favourite english songs or to browse teenagers' magazines, another good and pleasant way to improve the language. I think that in ten years all our students will have a lap top on their desk and no whiteboards and no books will be definitely needed. We are on the way.
