Sleeping tips

Sleeping tips

Postby Laura CR » Sun Apr 14, 2019 12:16 am

Well, I do not have trouble sleeping whatsoever, but I have found that by using relaxing sounds like rain or crashing waves, along with some aromatherapy in my bedroom, I sleep way better and wake up more rested.

Sometimes, doing a facial before going to sleep also relaxes me and that helps me rest better too.

Hope the tips help!

What is really a sleelping tips in which I can always trust is to go to bed with a book. Reading for a while is the best way for me to fall asleep in a very peaceful way!

There were moments in my life I struggled with falling asleep. Just months later I found out that these problems were related to eating. I used to eat very late in the evenings and I didn't eat healthy or light foods such as vegetables or I didn't avoid carbohydrates. So, it happened that when I went to bed, I wasn't able to fall asleep because I had stomach bugs and all this influenced my sleeping. Besides, since I had to wake up early to get to my workplace, I got nervous and this worsened the situation more and more.
Luckily, after some months, I met a dietician and I explained my struggles and he advised me to change my habits and, at once, my problems disappeared. It was a relieve because before this period, I had always slept like a dog.
Therefore, my advice is to eat just healthy foods and not too late but at 7.00 or so and you know how complicated is for Italians.

Interesting Ale, good that you found a solution. Yes 7:00 sounds quite early for a Mediterranean country - in the past in Spain you couldn't eat in a restaurant before 9:00 p.m. Now it's different because of mass-tourism. You can have dinner at 6:00 if you want! :)
One thing:
I had stomach bugs = this is like "viral gastroenteritis", quite a serious intestinal infection. You probably just had indigestion.
you know how complicated is for Italians.= There' something missing here: you know how difficult that is for Italians.
See you soon,
Pieter

One of the benefits of mass-tourism in Spain is that is now possible to go to a restaurant at 8:00 pm. I think that's a very reasonale time to eat in the evening even for a mediterranean country. I always try to have lunch about one o'clock and diner about eigth. I fell extremely happy with this timetable and I sleep really good.

Well, I have found very useful to have a cup of hot tea before sleeping. Particularly, those such as lime tea or valerian root since these herbs are natural facilitators of sleeping.
Do not drink it if you are allergic to one of these herbs.
Hope this tip can help you sleep peacefully!

Well, there are some good sleeping tips already posted here - hot herbal tea with honey, hot cacao, reading a book, not to eat unhealthy very late. So, I would just like to add avoiding staring at the computer/smart phone monitor right before going to bed as it lowers the levels of melatonin in your body and therefore it might lenghten the time of falling asleep. I found also helpful to turn on only the bedside lamp an hour before my bedtime, stretch a little bit, lower the heating and to reduce disturbing sounds.

In my opinion, there are many reasons why people can't sleep well at night or isn't able to fall asleep, but two of these are more important than the others.
The first one is related on what people eat during the whole day and expecially in the evening. The second one is linked to the physical activity that everyone of us should do.
As other people wrote before me, eating well is vital for our quality of life. My suggest for a good night's sleep is to avoid fats and junk food and to get a light dinner with fish or white meat and a big portion of vegetables.
Doing physical activity, before going to work or in the afternoon, like go running or to the gym or whatever while listening good music that you love, will help you to feel well and of course more relaxed. If you do this you'll sleep like a log.
Hope that these few lines will help someone to sleep better.
