Hi everybody,

I've been searching information about vegan diet in Internet and here are the results of my research ;-)

What does the diet consist of? What can and cannot be eaten? Vegan diet consist of eating only vegetables. Vegans avoid eating meat, fish, eggs, lactics and honey.

What is the philosophy behind the diet? The philosophy of vegan diet is to protect animals and improve health and environment.

What benefits are claimed for it? Vegans think that their diet respect animal rights and it's healthier than diets based on meat. They also think that it's better for enviroment because animal farms pollute rivers.

What do critics of the diet say about it? Critics say that vegetables do'nt cover all nutrition needs and vegans can't easily supply all necessary nutrients. They also say that it's not proved that eating meat is bad for heath. Finally, they say that there's also not proved that you will live longer and better if you just eat vegetables.

Can you find the name of any famous people who follow the diet? Yesterday I read in a newspaper that Beyoncé is vegan and she said that since she began vegan diet she has lost the thirty kilos that she had got during her pregancy.

Thanks for this Josep! My brother is a Vegan and his problem is how to get enough protein. You can get it from eating Tofu and legumes, like lentils etc. But you can't eat that every day! He is actually under medical supervision, to check that he is not getting undernourished!
