The Musk Ox

They live in the Arctic, North America and Greenland; they are introduced to Norway and Spitsbergen.
The population is about 24000 members worldwide.
In the bad weather members of the herd huddle close together protecting calves in the middle of the group.
They adopt a similar formation, when danger threatens, in attack by wolf pack or by polar bears; in the attack the musk have yours sharps horns.
The species was named Musk Ox after its discovery in 1720 because of the strong musky odour witch the bulls emit during the breeding season.
