Laughter can produces a general sense of well-being. Laughter can increase your overall sense of well-being. Doctors have found that people who have a positive outlook on life tend to fight diseases better than people who tend to be more negative. So smile, laugh, and live longer!

In my opinion, all the advice on how to encourage laughter in the workplace is funny to imagine but not very practical. I'm a primary school teacher and if I appear one monday morning in my class with a funny hat, the students this day will not learn anything and will be all day making jokes about my hat. By the other hand, I think taking time off to laugh for no reason at all, is a little utopic. I mean, I like to lauhg, a lot, but I need some reason or something funny to laugh at. I don't have the hability to laugh for no reason, so I think this advice is completely irreal. And last but not least, I think to spend time during the workday sending jokes by email to my co-workers would be totally inapropiate.

However, I would like to give some advice to take life with more positiveness and, in short, to be happier every day:

- Be grateful for everything you have and who you are. We are totally privileged and sometimes we don't see it.
- Stay calm, breathe and meditate in front of stressful or painful situations.
- Practice some mindfulness and be present on every moment in your life.
- Apreciate everything, even when you are doing something boring or doing something you don't like (cleaning dishes or waiting the bus).
- Smile more. I don't know how to laugh for no reason, but I know how to smile and this simple gesture will make others happy, include ourselves during the day.

I usually keep funny toys on my desk and take short breaks to play with them. It helps me to relax after working for a long time.

I have a lot of funny little things on my desk; they remember me who I am and wich are the things I really like. Laughter at work, althought desirable, is not possible always (I agree with Natalia's point of view).
