I believe that the Mesoamerican ballgame was not a sport but rather a religious ceremony to see who survives first the sacrifices that were made.
I don't think that sports like soccer or tennis have a religious, ceremonial or symbolic meaning, they only serve to make you entertain, get active and exercise.
I do not consider bullfighting to be a ritual or a sport because only bullfighters use them for their own benefits.
if they should ban it so that there is no more mistreatment of animals.
