Interesting for me has been to discover that French influenced the Neapolitan language during the 16th and 17th century.
In fact, today a lot of dialect’s words are similar in sound to French, for example:
- butteglia=bouteille, bottle
- cazetta=chausette, sock
- commò=commode, bedside Table
- tuppo=toup, knotted hair
- sarvietta=serviette, napkin
