What's the best and cheapest way of getting to Easter Island?
Chile is the best place to do it from, any tips on cheap places to stay and best way to see the island.
Which of the islands listed below can you visit?
• Pitcairn Island (Yes, you can visit)
• Galapagos Islands (Yes, you can visit)
• Tristan de Cunha (Yes, but you need a a permission from the Administrator/Island Council
• Faroe Islands (Yes, you can visit)
• Andaman Islands (Yes, you can visit)
How can you get there?
• Pitcairn Island: You will first start your journey flying from your homeland via Auckland, Los Angeles or Tokyo to Tahiti in French Polynesia. Once you arrive in Tahiti, you will likely spend a few nights in a hotel or pension until you board the Air Tahiti Tuesday flight from Tahiti to Mangareva so you need to make sure you can book your flight before contacting our booking office to secure your berth on the Claymore II.

On arrival in Mangareva, just 300 miles West north-west of Pitcairn, you will take the short ferry ride from the airport to Rikitea village to board the MV Claymore II, assisted by the crew and ready yourself for your final 32 hour ocean crossing to Pitcairn.

The Claymore II carries supplies and passengers to the island every 3 month and Stoney Creek Shipping Ltd, the owners of the Claymore II, occasionally add private charters to those scheduled when either the Claymore II or their second Ship, RV Braveheart, are in the area.
To make enquiries about booking a berth on Claymore II Private
• Galapagos Islands: Situated in the Pacific Ocean some 1,000 km from Ecuador by boat.
• Tristan de Cunha: By boat from Cape Town. Travelling to Tristan da Cunha requires careful planning. It takes five to six days to travel the 2810 kilometres from Cape Town.
• Faroe Islands: You can arrive by boat or fly from Iceland.
• Andaman Islands: You can visit Andaman Islands from Port Blair (India) by boat.
Which are the most difficult to visit?
The most difficult to visit is Tristan de Cunha island.
