1.- The most popular and common names from Spain are Antonio, María and Carmen, but it depends of the community because in mine it's different; here in Catalonia, the common names are Marc, Pol, Júlia and Martina.
2.- Yes, of course... my family name is Martínez and I think it's too common in Spain and also in Latin countries.
3.- Well, the origin is from the north of Spain but you can find it in a lot of countries of America due to the Spanish colonization.
4.- Yes, Martínez is a derivate of the name Martin and they used as a family name; it's to say Martinez became a surname but they wanted to say "son's Martin".
5.- Yes, maybe Jonathan, Jennifer, Kilian...
6.- Usually, we used the first name for people you met the first time, but if that person is someone important (popular) you can use first "Mr" o "Miss" (probably with your boss Mr. Joan Pere)
