1) In my country the common names are Mario, Anna , Salvatore, ecc but most of them are linked to the territory. For example in Sicily is very simple meet person called Salvatore, in Naples most frequently you can meet Ciro; but the best common name in "Mario Rossi".
2) My name is Luigi and it is not a common name.
3) My family's name is not too much popular; in my city there are just five or six families with the same surname.
4) In my case "Vetri" means "glasses" and it is not related to a profession but to a material. However In Italy several families reported a name of a city.
5) In Italy we use to call ours sons by Italian's name. but i called my daughter Margaux, maybe i complicated her life, because it is very complicate to write.
6) Normally i use My name and my surname. I need a little time to be in confidence with other people and call them by their first name. when i work i always use the surname except when i speak with colleagues of the same rank.
7) Yes i do; in formal contest, we used to put the qualification before surname for example Doctor Rossi, Engineer Esposito etc.
8) it is the same in italy, we used to say "tesoro" "amore" "cara" . In Sicily is very frequent use "Gioia"

Hello everyone.

Here in Uruguay some names are very common, like María or José. Some of them are linked with another names like María Ana, María Luisa or José Pedro, José Luis, etc.
My name is Fabiana and actually, I think that it is not a common name because in my hole Life I only met 2 girls called Fabiana.
My Family´s name is from Italy, and I dont know so much people that share this Surname.
In my case, Ferrari is the brand name of the famous cars in Italy. So, when I was a Child all my Friends said to mee Runn runnn like the sound of the car´s Motors.
In Uruguay like south América, most people used to share some pet names as "Cariño", "Corazón", "Bombón", etc.
Fabi.
