6. Are any names from other countries popular in your country? Which ones? Bryan Elliot, Kimberly
7. In your country when you meet someone for the first time, what name do you use? Most of the time my first name. How do you know when you can use their first name? With my friends and relatives.
8. In your country do you ever use surnames without a title (e.g., Mrs or Mr)? When could you do this? I do it when they are older than me. Why would you do it? Because I feel respect for them
9. There are common pet names in English that show affection, such as honey, darling or pet. What words are used in your language? Gato, gatito minino perro, chiquito, and perrito

There are many common names in Bogotá, Colombia. For example: Juan, María, Valentina, Isabella, David, Sebastian...
Actually, my family name is no common. And, it does not tell me anything about my family.
My name doesn't refer anything about my profession. But, in some occasion, I read that my name meant: passion for the education. And, I'm a teacher. So, if can be a relationship between my name and my profession.
In my country, it is really popular that people name their children using American names, like Richard, Mathew or Mike.
When I meet someone for the first time, I introduce myself as Adriana Velasquez. I never use titles. For that, it will be a really formal situation.
The typical pet names in Colombia are: cariño, mi vida, amor, nene, etc.

The common names in my country are Maria, José, Pedro. Luz.
My surname is not common. It is Miguel and is usually use as a first name. I don´t know what it means or where it comes from.
Some years ago I read that catholic priests used to sell surnames to indigenous people. In that way they were converted into catholic.
Nowadays parents give their children foreign names like Bryan, Dylan. Britany, etc. It is because the influence of famous people like actors or singers.
Some years ago when we met someone, we used to say Mr, or Ms. because respect. Today it is not common.
Pet names in my language are corazón, chaparrita, cariño, mi niño and are used to show affection with very close friends or family.
