What are common names where you come from?
- In my country, the most common name is Rafa
Is your family name common?
- Yeah, i think, it is popular. "Fernandez" was a surname of one king of Castilla y Leon
Does your family name tell you anything about your family (e.g., where you come from)?
- "Fernandez" mean "warrior". I think that it is the best name to describe my family
Some English names refer to trades or professions, such as Butcher or Baker. Does your name mean anything? Are there any names in your country that do?
- I'm not sure... I think there aren't exist the same names to refer professions and family names.
Are any names from other countries popular in your country? Which ones?
- Yeah, In Spain there are many different names. For example: John, Jacob...
In your country when you meet someone for the first time, what name do you use? How do you know when you can use their first name?
- I use Jesus, because it is my name. I usually call people by their first name
In your country do you ever use surnames without a title (e.g., Mrs or Mr)? When could you do this? Why would you do it?
- I think no, but the people use Mrs or Mr in formal conversation.
There are common pet names in English that show affection, such as honey, darling or pet. What words are used in your language?
- For example: "pelusa", "Coco"... there are many names that make no sense.
