MY OPINION ABOUT CERTAIN MISUNDERSTANDING
In my opinion it's difficult to believe you are in another far away place and it doesn't realized about it. To a person who has such a confusion, I want to say that among other things he has little knowledge of geography, languages and art. It seems impossible that there are people so little observe.

Unfortunately I have no experience in misunderstandings, so I cannot explain any experience about it.

He Gerard, thanks for your opinion. Just the other fay I overheard a conversation with some tourists. They were looking for a bus to Alella, but the person understood Calella. If you don't have a language in common, there can be misunderstandings! Luckily the tourists didn't get on the wrong bus :)
