Yes, I think we can learn of folk tales always, because they are based in the popular wisdom which is a kind of store of all knowledges of a culture during its history. On another hand, I think folk histories show the practical experiences that a culture has had in time, but they have been explained metaphoricly for to make easier their didactic transmission.
